1979 Rolex Submariner 18K 1680/8 Crazy Tropical Nipple Dial

This is one of the most awesome Subs we have seen for a long time - a Rolex Submariner 18k 1680/8 from 1979 with an absoutely insane, vibrant tropical dial. It's hard to describe or capture the charisma of the dial in the pictures, but it's just out of this world. Of course the watch comes with a genuine new old stock "top hat" crystal.
 
Serial: 59XXXXX (1979)
 
Case: Excellent 18k yellow gold case in great condition, with thick and even lugs and crown guards.
 
Dial: Original nipple dial in very good condition with some patina. The original hands matching perfectly. It's a so called "tropical" dial which discoloured from it's original blue to a incredible shade of (blood) orange, with purple tones around the edges. This is giving it a mesmerising "on fire" like effect. The correct blue insert remains in great condition with some wear from use.
 
Bracelet: Brand new blue Molequin alligator strap with a new, genuine Rolex buckle.
 
Movement: Carefully checked by our watchmaker, running at COSC.
